"Oh how the time flies" ~ Coby's Senior Portraits ~ Portland, OR

It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was the happiest eight year old on the planet to have my very own baby brother. I remember when he was born and my second mom Lisa would make me wash my hands every time I wanted to hold him:) I doubt Coby remembers this but when he was a baby and my Mom and Dad started the "just let him cry it out until he falls asleep" routine, I used to sneak in his room and crawl into his crib next to him. Well, it seems those days are over and this is my baby brothers senior year! Coby is quite the character... It wasn't a big surprise to me when he started getting into drama. He has always had such a great spirit and has always been able to make me laugh. Now he is duking it out for leads in the school play. This is when I get teared up that I don't live closer. I feel like my brother and sister have grown up in the blink of an eye. Both Coby and Sami excel in modeling and by no surprise are some of the cutest teenagers around:) As much as I want to stop the train and just tell them to stop growing up already life just keeps happening and before I know it they will be off and on their own. Enjoy these shots of my baby brother who's not such a baby anymore.

The first half of these photos were taken in one of my brothers favorite parts of town called the Hawthorne District. It is an area of Southeast Portland where all the hipsters like to hang out;) I can definitely see Coby residing here someday.

Thanks to Jackpot Records for letting us shoot in your sweet record store.

This is one of Coby's favorite food spots the Perierra Creperie. I have to say this is to date the best fresh mint milk shake I have ever had! With all local fresh ingredients this place was enough to make my mouth water even after a huge breakfast.

After we walked around Hawthorne we decided to find some green and headed over to the Washington Park by the Portland Zoo. I forget how beautiful Portland is on a sunny day... and boy did it remind me!
This head shot is one of my favorites. Such sparkly blue eyes.

All the faces of Coby and maybe a better glimpse into that character I was telling you about:)

This is his center fold. Can't believe how old he looks here. A baby face but not for long...

This is after some random guy jumped into our shoot and gave Coby a hug. Thanks random guy for delivering some real laughing shots.

I will tell you who is a pure genius... Lionel Richie! Lol,  just click on the link and you will see what I mean.

One of my favs of the day!

Just I few oldies to show you what an adorable baby Coby was and the goofy Christmas morning photo of me in the bottom right:) That was an awkward year with the braces and all...

Well Coby its not often that I get to give you advice and it might just be because I'm listening to John Mayer...  I wish these were my own words but I think this is said pretty well "Pain will throw your heart to the ground and love will turn the whole thing around, fear is friend that you miss understood but I know the heart of life is good." Before I go all mushy just give this video a listen I think it pretty much says it all. When it's good it will feel like it should, just ask Dad:) Love you brother.

Sayulita, Mexico - a much needed break

I am so excited to announce that Mandy I are setting out on a much need vacation next week! I first visited Sayulita, Mexico with my good friend and colleague Kyle Monk last spring to shoot a wedding. I fell in love with this lazy beach town and I have been waiting to make my return since the day that I left. These photos highlight the delightful hotel that we stayed in the first time around. It's called the La Casona and what a diamond in the rough it was. Just a short walk from the beach this hotel is a great place to relax. It was filled with such character and cute little personal amenities. If you are ever spending time in Sayulita I would personaly recomend the Hotel La Casona.

Meet the Gibson Family - Photo session Loomis, CA

I am so happy Mandy and I finally had the chance to photograph the Gibson family. This was the perfect time to return the favor for the amazing service that Dr. Gibson (my chiropractor) has provided for me in the last few months. In November last year Mandy and I were photographing a little girl in the bay area and while I was holding treats and "baby wrangling" as we call it I tweaked my back something fierce! For a couple months I just dealt with it. I guess that might be the stubborn athlete in me... It was an early morning in March when I attended a BNI networking meeting at beatnik when Dr. G saw me limping in and said, "you should really let me take a look." Starting to wonder if my back would ever feel normal again I took him up on his offer. Let me tell you if anyone needs a chiropractor I would refer you to Dr. G and his family practice in a heart beat. I am happy to say that after a couple months of treatment and adjustments my back feels as good as new! Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. G! Any who, in the midst of visiting their office a couple times a week, I finally hounded his wife Trish enough  to book this session and I am so happy she did. I hope you guys are in love with these photos! They are so cute and show the playful relationship your family shares.

I didn't realize Dr. G was such a ham. He was workin it every time I turned around, and man does he love his truck!

The fence lives to tell this story:)

Lol, love this one.
The girls
Lol, this one gets me every time... I told her to give her sister a smack on the cheek. Confusing I guess, but she definitely did not kiss her. Instead a little sisterly love with a back hand to the cheek! Oh boy...

Oh Yes we did... Look at those hops!

Who doesn't like sharing the cab with their person? Why do you think they don't put permanent center consoles in trucks...
Look at my huge hitch! Hella big Dr. G!
 Both of Dr. G's loves:)
It's not hard to tell the two things in life that Dr. G is very passionate about...

I love these last two. They remind me of the profile art that people used to make of their kids and frame. Can't wait to keep photographing these two as they grow up:)
